Famous people who are successful in sports and movies.

It is widely known that the modern-day media pays exorbitant attention to famous people who are successful in the sports and entertainment industries. Although there is a dichotomy of views on this concern, I hold an optimistic view towards this appreciation.

It is an axiomatic fact that nowadays media act as a socially-progressive element and influence people’s independent decisions, culture, behaviour, purchasing pattern, politics as well as entertainment too. At the same time, they inculcate fallacies, cognitive and confirmative biases manipulating the human mind while cultivating negative emotions such as hatred, violence, sadism. Owning to these Social, emotional and practical elements they use the hardly built image of idols, celebrities and the so-called famous people who are involved in sports and entertainment industries to manipulate people’s behaviours and a myriad of other aspects.

Celebrities and Idols who emerge from the Sports and entertainment industries play a critical part in people’s lives, who is obsessed in those sectors and these famous people act as a catalyst to encourage, motivate, influence people optimistically for an eclectic society. Media often illustrates these famous people’s journey to success highlighting how they overcame their hurdles, how they were motivated and the personality development they had after going through a lot of difficulties. When we carefully scrutinize this scenario, I think that this impels people to build up a lot of positive psychological elements like the sense of autonomy, self-esteem… etc.

In contrast, media’s unnecessary attention towards famous people in various fields may manipulate an individual’s mind to pursue a different path in his or her life without considering his or her skills, talents, passion… etc. As well as some may become obsessed with those celebrities ’life and will try to imitate and copy their lifestyle that will eventually eradicate their sense of autonomy. At the same time, people who lack social, practical and emotional intelligence may try to perpetuate negativities and inappropriate decisions of these famous people who can bring calamitous effects in the nearest future.

Owing to these factors, thinking critically, analytically and logically, I think that the pros of paying attention to famous people outweigh the cons and I thoroughly believe that the respective media should regulate this tendency for the betterment of society at the same time compiling with social ethics, responsibilities etc without causing unnecessary biases and behaviours among the novel generations.
